Beauty Lessons from Snow White

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? Well clearly I am!

That’s right! I am my own number-two fan; I have to be because if I allow this world to tell me that I am not beautiful because I don’t look like Beyonce or Tyra I wont leave the house! After years of complexes shouting at me that “my hips and bum are too big, I can’t where short sleeves, my nose is too big, OMG my forehead…” I had a life-changing encounter with a Famous Makeover Artist who made me realise that my beauty is actually unique and there’s nobody like me so I need to celebrate it!

Update Yourself

The first person (after God) that we need to be acceptable to and get results from is ourselves.  The success of our spiritual life, financial life, love life, etc depends on us constantly seeking to improve and become a better version of ourselves.

The Host

On a recent trip to the movies, I watched this amazingly creative film about humans being taken over by supernatural beings. Not usually my cup of tea but wait for it!

What happens is that these paranormal beings enter a human’s life by force and take over their bodies. Ninety nine percent of the earth has been conquered already but there are a few humans called the Resistance who are hiding in caves and would rather die than have these unknown entities take over them. It’s kind of like a gentle alien invasion thriller with a spiritual twist. I don’t believe in aliens by the way but I do believe that spiritual entities can live in our bodies by invitation or by force. The film is called, ‘The Host’ and got me thinking about my body in a deeper way.

Every little helps

So there I was busy in the hustle and bustle of my busy everyday life when suddenly a thought came to me: If I don’t take care of my health then how can I expect to continue my lifestyle (and for my health to take care of me)?

You see health is one of the things we usually take for granted – unless of course when it doesn’t work for us! Let’s think about it: every good machine we own needs regular maintenance and repair… However, sometimes we are so reliant on the fact that our bodies will function that we forget to actually give it the maintenance it needs to do a great job.

So I decided to fix a few things that my body would love me for later on… Here they are!

RESOLUTIONS (and how to make them come true….)

It’s that time again – when we all make resolutions for the coming year. We make resolutions for weight loss, to get a better job, or be a better friend, wife, sister, mother, etc…

The most common downfall that easily makes these resolutions amount to nothing is when we do not do the simplest thing – follow through. The popular expression, “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride”, explains just that. Wishing for a better life does not bring it about. For example, wishing to lose weight but still eating the huge portions and maintaining the bad eating habits does not in any way bring you towards that goal. A new job will not materialise out of the vacancy pages of the newspaper or fly out of the Jobcentre and come through your letterbox. However, these are physical things – what about changes to your character?
