Every little helps

So there I was busy in the hustle and bustle of my busy everyday life when suddenly a thought came to me: If I don’t take care of my health then how can I expect to continue my lifestyle (and for my health to take care of me)?

You see health is one of the things we usually take for granted – unless of course when it doesn’t work for us! Let’s think about it: every good machine we own needs regular maintenance and repair… However, sometimes we are so reliant on the fact that our bodies will function that we forget to actually give it the maintenance it needs to do a great job.

So I decided to fix a few things that my body would love me for later on… Here they are!

Push!

As a creative learner, I love analogies, anecdotes and metaphors that help me to understand things better; especially lessons of life. When talking about life, I can’t help but to refer to the Author of life, who has left instructions and guidance in His Word to teach us how to live well. As I have progressed in life and my own journey of faith, I have come to realise that oftentimes people quote the Bible without a clue what it means; hence the mass religiosity of so many church goers and the reason why many more are becoming increasingly frustrated with their faith to the point of giving up on it completely. This is also the reason why there are people who have decided that faith in God is a waste of time, based on the testimony that they see. Could it be that people just do not understand the Word of God? People who have been self confessed Christians for their whole life with little or no results? My intelligence just doesn’t allow me to believe that if this Word is true and I practice it, that my life remains the same. Either it’s not true or there’s something missing.

The challenge to continue

We’ve heard it time and time again, “you can achieve whatever you wish”. We’ve heard it so many times that we have become immune to this kind of “positive talk”. Do we actually believe it anymore? Because at first, we were all excited about the prospect that we could really live the life that we wanted to! Remember the business idea or the new career path we were going to embark on? After time, the notion grew weak and complacency set in – we settled, again.

Worth the Wait Pt 1

At the tender age of 16 I came to know the Lord Jesus. Though I grew up with a Catholic faith I had no true and personal relationship with God. Through an intense family trauma, my family and I sought refuge and help at a North London Christian Help centre and that was when my journey as a young Christian woman began.

As my relationship with God and development in my new found faith took priority, my love life was on the back burner. I understood that I had plenty of time for that and that God would provide me with the right person at the right time. This knowledge did not stop me from making a few mistakes in that area though!

Nothing to Lose Book Launch hits the UK!

Thirteen years ago, I was on the brink of a secret breakdown. I was a depressed 17-year old who had just returned from a holiday from hell where my family were torn apart over a financial dispute. Suffering from insomnia and spiritual attacks, I often hated going to sleep because the dark scared me and I was convinced that a poltergeist had invaded my room. Sinister? It was all too real for me and I couldn’t see a way out so I entertained ways to escape my taking my life just as my father had done where he blew himself away on Pembury Estate in Hackney. When my mum attempted suicide thrice and my sister, Mel admitted to cutting herself to feel better, I was on the edge too but something kept telling me to hold on one more day…
