Mr Valentine

Single

I first clapped eyes on this guy ten years ago in a Church service. He used to sit across from me and I’d catch his stare every so often. His ocean-like eyes would catch mine for a moment and out of shyness I’d turn away, and then look again.

He was gorgeous! I would look forward to seeing him every service, searching for his grand entrance. His presence would just light up the place. There he was a real mystery man with a sharp suit and flawless charm. I’d never had a boyfriend before and surely he couldn’t be single: he was a right catch! Could this be the one I was waiting for all my life, and better still, could he actually like me back?

Oxford City

I’m a big fan of day trips and short breaks in the UK. It may not always be possible to go abroad when you want to, but a couple of hours’ journey to an outer London destination can make you feel like you’ve left the country!

Spring pastels!

The weather outside is dismal but that isn’t the case for the high street. Oh yes, Spring has truly sprung!! One of the trends for this season is pastels. They are for every age, every shape, everybody! I have put together a few looks to represent this. Curvy girls, the a-line pink scuba skirt from Primark will accentuate your waist whilst skimming over the lumps and bumps, always a bonus!  Pear shaped ladies can also jump on this one too as the a-line shape is one of the most universally flattering shapes for all shapes. The PVC skirt is not just for the slim ladies, you can just change the top for one that covers the bum or add a blazer or cardigan. Go experiment , have fun, go pastel!!!

Making It Happen – at the LT!

I was talking to someone really special about her love life the other day (as I do!) and she was convinced that she had tried everything to find that special someone that would complement her.

I then asked her if she would be attending the 80s Night at the Love Therapy on Feb 15. She had no idea what I was talking about!

Finsbury Park station

I know it’s a weird title to find in the ‘Soul Food’ section right?  Bear with me…

Finsbury Park has been a regular underground stop for me for the past 15 years now, and more recently, a source of inspiration for this article.

Get the wine out!

I’ve been in Africa now for a year and it has been a learning curve to say the least! I came here in December 2012 and have literally had to build my life from scratch out here. Ghana to be precise. I had to find a place to live, find a job, build a marriage, etc. What a wonderful to-do list!

Whilst in London, I could often cushion myself with the phrase ‘All in God’s timing’ and life ran on in the same routine. I was comfortable. I had a good career with money coming in every 4 weeks, I had a roof over my head, I had a wonderful support network at church with leaders and counsellors who cared so much about me – I was covered. My routine was set.
