Denice Allen

Name: Denice Rachel Allen

Born & Bred where? Manchester and then London

Nickname or better known as: Neecy, Dee

Majestic in Marriage? Or Stunning Singleton? Majestic in marriage for almost 4 and half years now with a beautiful little boy, Israel.

Most embarrassing moment: Sooooooo many embarrassing moments to choose from, but one time I was vigorously cleaning the altar at church in the Rainbow Theatre, and while my back was to the whole auditorium, which included the bishop who was having an advise session with a gentleman. Anyhoo, the next thing that I know, a friend of mine comes rushing onto the altar with a hushed urgent tone that informed me that the zipper on the back of my skirt was wide open and the tufts of my bright white shirt was poking out over my underwear!!!! And before you cringe too soon, he only noticed because he followed the stares of the other pairs of eyes in the room. Where’s a trap door when you need one?

Fave holiday: My honeymoon in Wales. France with Melissa, Gemma and Rosie. A right laugh and great holiday.

Fave food: Too many dishes to choose from. I love my food! To select one; ackee and saltfish (with bacon of course) with fried dumpling

Biggest pearl in life: My faith most definitely.

Biggest peril: Having to work with and be around people with no ‘get up and go.’

Biggest drama you managed to solve: Running a gauntlet of obstacles trying to get married!!

Fave colour: Red above all. And purple of course!

The Purple you are closest to and why? My sister.

Biggest dream: Ooooh! I’ve got to keep some things close to my chest! I’m working on it.

Fave Actor: Don’t really have one

Fave movie or TV programme: I don’t watch much TV, but you can never go wrong with a bit of Friends.

Fave song: It changes often, but one I love is ‘The Closer I Get to You’- the Luther Vandross and Beyoncé version. From the bass to the vocals, I love it.

Most used word or phrase: Hilarious!

Why should anyone read what you have to say anyway? There’s a proverb that says ‘one who learns from his mistakes is smart. One who learns from somebody else’s mistakes is wise.’ I’m becoming smarter every day and I give the reader a chance to be wise when I expose the lessons that I have learned. I know that I’m not alone in the things that I experience, but not everybody is willing to be open enough to help others. I am.
